the children's theater company
I am an avid fan of the arts. Surprising, I know, but I am also a huge fan of making it accessible and appealing to all ages and stages, and even more so when it comes to my own kids...
Our fam just got back from watching a great performance of Huck Finn at the CTC tonight; it was a fabulous way to spend one of our last nights together before Peter & I are off to Ecuador. D & J are thoroughly entertained, even when the production targets children who are a bit older. We were let in on a best kept secret a couple of months ago when we were told that we could get in on an amazing deal by becoming a part of their "Pay What You Can" night. We hadn't been to any of their productions previously, not because we didn't want to, but because it is quite pricey. Our family of 4 would spend a minimum of $80 for one night if paying the full weekday price. However, through this program, they offer one night during the course of each production that allows families who might not get the chance otherwise to come and enjoy all that children's theater has to offer (last month we saw Tale of a West Texas Marsupial Girl). We absolutely love it...
I just thought I'd give anyone who is interested a heads up, because I am beginning to feel selfish for not sharing this valuable information that was thoughtfully shared with us. Their next production is the first of this season to target all ages; Seussical is based on different Dr. Seuss characters who all come together for a great time. We are already anticipating that night...Let me know if you want to go!
