la vida es bella

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me...I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Phillippians 3:12-14

hogar, dulce hogar

A woman named Evelyn who was only a few days ago a stranger spoke words this evening that struck a chord with me, resonating through my heart strings to change the tune I had been humming for the previous 24 hours. These, the few chosen words at the end of one of my favorite chapters in Paul's letter to the Philippians, have filled me with a hope that I do not find myself often accepting.

But our citizenship is in heaven...

This will always be a home to me, and these, a people that I am passionately moved by. However, it is not the place that binds us, but rather the love of Christ Jesus who gave His life that we may live & love with an intensity that is unmatched. Thank you Lord for these joyous hearts we encountered today who, though may have nothing in the eyes of the world, have everything they could possibly need. This truly is a home, sweet home...
